SLynx runs a standard Windows installation. The SLynx program is installed by default in C:\SLynx with sub-folders. The installation also creates a desktop icon and a program menu option. SLynx's installation makes no changes to the registry.
When SLynx runs, it creates the configuration file SLynx.ini in the program folder. This file stores current window positions, the associated data folder locations, recent and other non-critical settings .
If SLynx is not Fully functional, it may be on Trial or Demo. Trial gives full functionality until an expiry date, then reverts to Demo. Demo is fully functional with 10 events maximum.
If the program status is not Full, when the program starts and if the internet is reachable, SLynx will check with the CaRob server to see if that status has changed. For example, when on Trial, and CaRob has received a payment, its status on the server is set to Full. SLynx then needs to check this and can update its own status to Full.
